Sloppy BBQ Sandwiches - A quick & delicious meal that is kid-friendly and husband approved. I’ve been so darn busy these last few weeks that I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to blogging. Back in March I did a video for my daughter’s band to submit to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade committee. We just found out that they were selected to go in 2015 (Macy’s on Twitter). This is a huge honor and the kids are really excited. Only 10 bands are selected each year (6 high school & 4 college).

Life was so much simpler when I wasn’t volunteering with the band but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. With such a busy life it’s hard to find meals that are tasty and quick to make. Sloppy BBQ Sandwiches are one of my go to meals.

They make for a quick & delicious meal that is kid-friendly and husband approved. I’ve made these for my daughter’s band (200+ kids) and they were a big hit. I usually serve them with my Homemade Crispy Fries. They go well with coleslaw and/or potato salad.

If you would like to kick them up a notch, add a bit of bell pepper & teaspoon or two of your favorite hot sauce.

These sandwiches use liquid smoke. Liquid Smoke is generally found where the Barbecue sauce is in the grocery store. If you have never cooked with it – you’re gonna fall in love. I prefer Natural Hickory Flavor by Colgin Liquid Smoke.

I don’t care for the vinegar taste in most sloppy joe recipes, but yours doesn’t use much. I’ll have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.

These aren’t really sloppy joes.. They look like them but taste like a barbecue sandwich. Thanks for stopping by ~Stacy

The Macy’s trip is pretty exciting. My cousins oldest daughter got to go 2 Christmas’s ago. She was picked with about 4 other girls in our state for being the top High School Cheerleaders. My aunt (her grandma) went with them. It looked like a lot of fun and we all rooted for her! Thanks for linking at The Yuck Stops Here! Pinned!
